Elevated from training partner to fully-contracted player last season, young shooter Kate Taylor is back for a second season in 2026. Part of the Waikato Bay of Plenty Pathway, Taylor has continued to climb the ranks and leave an impression. A tall and accurate presence under the hoop, Taylor delivered strong personal performances during 2023 and 2024, where she excelled with her consistently high volume of shots and accurate radar for Waikato Bay of Plenty in the NNL and for Hamilton City in the Netball NZ Open Champs. Taylor had limited opportunities in her first season at the elite level but with the experience of the World Youth Cup now under her belt, where the New Zealand team secured the silver medal, can expect more court time with the Magic in the season ahead. A player of real promise, the 1.9m frame of Taylor is a key target under the hoop, where she is a naturally astute holding shooting with high levels of accuracy.
