Tim Hamilton to depart Netball WBOP
Media Release, 16th August 2016
Inaugural CEO of Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone (Netball WBOP) and Cold Power Magic, Tim Hamilton has announced he will step down from his role.
Hamilton has accepted the position to become the inaugural General Manager of the new Auckland-based team in the ANZ Netball Elite League.
Zone Chair John Wiltshire says they wish Tim all the best in his new role and are pleased that he’ll stay involved in Netball.
“Tim has seen Netball WBOP through a period of enormous change and success. He has been a valued member of our team and the driving force behind growing Netball in the Zone,” Wiltshire said.
“While we are disappointed to see him go, we are pleased that he will not be lost to the sport and we wish him and his family all the best in this new chapter.”
Hamilton says he has enjoyed his time with Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty, but the opportunity to be closer to his family and establish a new team was too good to overlook.
"The opportunity presented by the creation of a new team was something I couldn't ignore and I am looking forward to contributing to this venture as well as returning to Auckland to be closer to my family,” Hamilton said.
"It has been a privilege to be the inaugural CEO of the Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone and to see through a period of change and transition to the next phase of the organisations development.
"One of the highlights during my time in the role was to see the Cold Power Magic cement its place as New Zealand's best performing team in the ANZ Championship and be crowned back-to-back New Zealand Conference Champions."
Wiltshire said the recruitment for a new CEO would start immediately.
