Mid-courter Jamie-Lee Price is one player determined to get her side over the line, but knows it won’t be easy.
“It’s going to be a tough one against the Pulse this weekend,” Price said.
“I don’t know what it is with the Pulse but we do struggle against them so we’re looking to win obviously, but we need to play how we play and concentrate on what we’re good at doing.”
It’s the second ANZ Championship season at the Magic for 19 year old Price, with coach Julie Fitzgerald showing faith in her to get the job done in the wing defence and centre positions.
“Julie’s always told me that one day she’ll make me a centre and when Courtney (Tairi) got injured early in the season she threw me in there,” Price said.
“It feels good and I’m taking the opportunities that I get, and even though it’s a new position for me at centre, I’m just happy to be on.”
Known for her feisty play, Price is not intimidated coming up against some of the best netballers in the world, on a weekly basis.
“Sometimes you’ve just got to take it as though you’re as good as that player on the court and you are there for a reason, so it’s great to just challenge them and yourself,” she admitted.
Fans can watch Price and her Kia Magic teammates against the Mojo Pulse at Claudelands Arena in Hamilton on Monday May 25 from 7.40pm. The match will be broadcast live on SKY Sport 1 from 7:30pm
