Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Announce Partnership with Rawhiti Pork to Support Women’s Leadership Development
In a first of its kind commercial relationship for netball in the Waikato Bay of Plenty, Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty have partnered with local pork suppliers, Rawhiti Pork, to help the development of leadership skills within the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic netball team.
The partnership will be underpinned by Rawhiti Pork’s financial support of the Magic’s leadership development programme, which will see player’s and team support staff participate in a series of seminars and workshops designed to improve their leadership qualities. Rawhiti Pork will leverage the partnership to enhance its work with grassroots community groups in the north-eastern Waikato and southern Thames Valley areas.
Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Chief Executive, Rohan West, commented;
“We are delighted to welcome Rawhiti Pork to our family of commercial partners. Not only do they share our desire to develop the next generation of female leaders in our sport, but they also support grassroots netball in their local area. Part of our role across the wider Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne/East Coast area, is to provide personal development opportunities to our participants via our great sport. Through our partnership with Rawhiti Pork, we can give some of the leaders in our Magic team a more formalised leadership development programme, and we in turn can help Rawhiti Pork with its support of grassroots netball in Te Aroha.”
Rwahiti Pork General Manager, Jonathan Nabbs, added;
“Rawhiti Pork Ltd are incredibly motivated to partner with Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty and the Magic Leadership Team Development Program (Magic LTDP). As well as having terrific values which align closely with our own, the Magic LTDP will allow us to help grow the next generation of young female leaders in the Waikato. As a high-welfare farm, we have a Maori motto which translates to ‘Let us nurture the flax;’ which broadly means that we should care for the young to build a better tomorrow. We are delighted that Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty and the Magic LTDP share our views so that together we can make a difference."
