Avis Magic shooter Saviour Tui will take her netball career overseas in 2027 after signing with the LexisNexis Dragons.
The move will see the popular goal shoot join the Welsh side for the 2027 Netball Super League season for one year, following three seasons with Magic.
Tui said leaving Magic had been a difficult decision, but the opportunity to experience a new competition in a high-performance environment was an important step in her development.
“When the opportunity with the Dragons came up, I felt it was the right time to step outside my comfort zone and experience netball in a different part of the world. With some uncertainty around what the domestic competition will look like in New Zealand next year, I had been exploring opportunities that would allow me to keep challenging myself and developing my game,” Tui said.
"Playing in a new competition, learning from different coaches and teammates and coming up against different styles of netball will challenge me and help me continue to grow as a player.”
"Magic has been such a special part of my journey and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone at the club and to the fans who have supported me over the past three seasons. They have made Magic feel like home and I'll always carry that with me."
The 1.89m shooter joined Magic in 2024 after spending two seasons with Southern Steel and two with Northern Mystics.
Known for her aerial ability, athleticism, shooting accuracy and trademark smile, Tui quickly became a fan favourite. Predominantly a goal shoot, she has also expanded her game at goal attack and was selected in the 2025/26 Silver Ferns squad.
Avis Magic Relationship Manager Gary Dawson said Tui had made a lasting impact during her three seasons with the club.
"Saviour has been a hugely valued member of Magic, both for what she brings on court and the energy and personality she brings to the wider group," Dawson said.
"She has a special connection with our supporters and has become a genuine fan favourite during her time here.”
"We’re incredibly proud of everything she has achieved in a Magic dress.”
Tui previously won three National Netball League titles with Central Manawa in 2018 and 2019 and Northern Marvels in 2021. She has also represented New Zealand A, the Silver Ferns Development Squad and the New Zealand Secondary Schools team.
