Cold Power Magic Buoyed By Win

The Cold Power Magic are looking forward to their first Hamilton home game of the ANZ Championship season this Saturday, buoyed by getting a much needed win against the Tactix on Sunday.

The Cold Power Magic take on the Mystics at 4:00pm on Saturday, 21 May at Claudelands Arena and coach Julie Fitzgerald says the team can't wait to finally play in Hamilton.

"We're delighted to be playing at home in Hamilton,” says Julie Fitzgerald.

“We just love that arena, we love the crowd there and we love the atmosphere - we're very excited to be back home again.”

The team will head into Saturday’s game with added confidence after showing plenty of fight and composure to keep chipping away at the Tactix lead.

“Yesterday's win against the Tactix was huge for us and I'm most pleased about the courage the players showed.

“To be down several times in the match by as many as seven and eight goals, and to be able to fight their way back, when they've come into the game not being able to build a lot of confidence, I thought showed a lot of courage.

“I was also pleased with our improved flow.

“We started to build those better connections against the Fever.

“Even though we were disappointed with the score there, we did feel that we were starting to get on track.

“We're certainly not there yet either, but it was pleasing to see another improvement this week.”

Tickets to Saturday’s game at Claudelands Arena can be purchased through Ticketek.
