Catching up with Kristiana Manu’a

SKY Sport's Netball Zone caught up with Kristiana Manu'a to talk everything from joining the Kia Magic, how she first got involved in the sport and what it’s like to learn from two of the world’s best defenders.

Here’s a snapshot of what she had to say, and don’t forget to check out the full video below:

Kristiana on moving away from home to join the Magic

KM: “This was my chance. [There was] no hesitation, I was in there…I didn’t really think about anything else but I was going to be playing in the ANZ [Championship].”

“The New Zealand people make you feel so welcome; they’re like family, especially the team, they’ve made me feel like family.”

Kristiana on linking up with Malia Paseka

KM: “I used to go to school with Malia back in Sydney. It’s crazy to think that when we were 13 or 14 year olds training together that we’d be coming to New Zealand and playing together. It’s good to come here and play with her and experience this journey together.”

KM: “I’m honestly learning every training session, every game. They’re very inspirational. They don’t have to do much to inspire me.”

Kristiana and her Magic team-mates will go head-to-head with the undefeated West Coast Fever on Sunday, where a win will see them return home with not only the two competition points, but also the coveted Challenge Trophy.

Fans can tune into SKY Sport 1 on Sunday 26 April from 2pm to catch all the action live!
