AVIS Magic Netball has partnered with Farmer Autovillage, making them the first team in the ANZ Premiership to adopt a 100% electric vehicle fleet for the upcoming season.

Farmer Autovillage, a locally-owned, family-run motor group based in Mount Maunganui, will supply players with the MG Electric Excite, which features a 64kW battery. Magic Head Coach Mary Jane Araroa will also receive the MG ZS Hybrid Essence, combining electric efficiency with hybrid versatility.

This shift to electric vehicles reflects the team's commitment to sustainability, providing an efficient and environmentally friendly way to travel to training, games, and promotions.

Mike Farmer, Group Managing Director at Farmer Autovillage, is proud to support Magic on and off the court.

"The team and I at Farmer’s are passionately enthusiastic about supporting the dynamic Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic for the 2025 season. It is a privilege to be involved.”

Magic Captain Ameliaranne Ekenasio extended her gratitude to Farmer Autovillage on behalf of the team.

"The team truly appreciates having these vehicles for the season. Using electric cars allows us to do our part for the environment by reducing fuel consumption and embracing more sustainable travel. In this tough economic climate, this support means even more. Farmer Autovillage is a true whānau business, and their generosity and commitment to our team has been amazing."

This partnership with Farmer Autovillage not only strengthens local ties but also represents a forward-thinking step for both organisations.
