The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic Zone is delighted to announce Rebecca Greenhalgh as the Head Coach of the BEKO Team for 2017

This appointment is a great reward for Rebecca and encouragement for all coaches within our Zone as Rebecca was Assistant Coach of the BEKO Team last year under Margaret Forsyth.

Rebecca said she was looking forward to having support from the Zones Performance Managers Ruth Aitken and Deb Fuller and guidance from the Magic’s Coaching staff of Margaret Forsyth and Amigene Metcalfe and felt she would settle in to the role quite quickly as she has had exposure to Margaret’s methods and expectations through the experience of last year. Margaret was great to work with, I understand the role of the BEKO Team and I learnt a lot”.

Greenhalgh said “it is encouraging that local coaches were getting recognised and I feel this appointment may well motivate a lot of other coaches to one day try to also be the Magic Zone’s BEKO coach”.

Rebecca has a great attitude and is a qualified teacher (St Peters in Cambridge) with a broad sporting and coaching experience across a number of sports and up to National representation in Touch.

Rebecca has many years of coaching within the Zone and is always keen to be part of what the Zone is trying to achieve.
